The Essay Topic For IELTS and TOEFL
The Essay Topic For IELTS and TOEFLThe main topics for IELTS and TOEFL assessments are generally centered on core topics in academic writing. But, more than anything else, the subject matter of the tests is what separates a mediocre student from a student who will always be unable to write anything except for these exams. This is because, when the subject matter of the test is weak, so is the student's ability to compose a good piece of academic writing.Students in most countries studying the subject at undergraduate level receive some passing marks; however, this does not qualify them for higher exams like TOEFL. In fact, even if they pass their undergraduate level examinations, they would not qualify for TOEFL or IELTS if they do not clear the advanced level examinations. In the recent years, the American Institutes of Linguistics (AILA) and the Teaching Standards Authority (TSA) have strengthened the curriculum of IELTS and TOEFL.According to the AILA, a lot of research has been d one to assess how students' attitude towards academic writing can be used as an indicator on how well students can write at both the undergraduate and the graduate level. The authors of the research concluded that there is a strong correlation between the attitude of the student towards academic writing and the content of the examination. Two major subjects that get the greatest amount of attention during these exams are English and Logic. Both these subjects can make students feel superior about themselves and this is the very reason why they should be the ones to take a turn when it comes to assessing the students' knowledge about these subjects. The essay topic of these subjects should focus on both the students' confidence and their common-sense because, as stated earlier, the subject matter is what distinguishes the average student from the exceptional student. An essay can easily be written in three sections: the introductory section, the development of an argument, and the conc lusion of the whole paper. The introduction contains the students' awareness about the subject, the type of learning that they have undergone, and their awareness about the common mistakes made by the students who have passed their exams. The argument or the main body of the paper starts off with the main theme of the entire paper and proceeds to the next part. The conclusion is a part of the study about the topic and it provides details about how the student is able to use logic to answer a certain issue raised in the debate. After all the sections of the paper have been covered, the students should now sit down and choose the topic for their paper. The topics are usually divided according to subject areas and the requirements of the college.Based on the topic chosen by the students, the professor will determine the category or subcategory of the topic according to the level of the subject. The students should now wait for the exam day and wait for the most appropriate topic to be w ritten for the subject. Usually, the subjects that are written in the top subjects for the essay topics for IELTS and TOEFL are religion, history, literature, political science, foreign languages, and humanities.Besides the regular testing of the students, the IELTS and TOEFL also involve the option of taking tests on test day. This ensures that the students who already passed their exams can be able to retest their knowledge and improve their scores.
